In on episode of British comedy, ‘A little bit of Fry and Laurie’, Hugh Laurie dies; Stephen Fry then plays an interview of himself talking about Hugh’s death, before Laurie then turns up on the sofa, wearing a white suit, to share in the viewing.
The white suit reminded me of John Lennon on the cover of the Beatles album, Abbey Road. And maybe Fry and Laurie were giving a ‘tip of the hat’, or nod of the head’ to that scene – if there were, we have both meta, to them throwing in a little intertextual reference to boot.
